Food safety

KH PACK^® Greaseproof papers are designed for direct food contact. Our products are made from materials that meet the highest standards of consumer safety reflecting the current level of scientific knowledge. The most important standards defining safety requirements on paper for direct contact with food are:

• Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food
• Recommendations of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment BfR XXXVI: Paper and paperboard for food contact, and XXXVI/2: Paper and paperboard for baking purposes
• Regulations of the United States Food and Drug Administration FDA 21 CFR §176.170: Components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods, and §176.180: Components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry food

Compliance with the above standards is assessed and certified by independent laboratories. We collaborate with respectable certification institutes such as ISEGA, FABES, Intertek, or ITC.

ISO 9001:2015 Certification

We start and end with quality

The quality of a product depends to a large extent on the quality of raw materials. In our manufacturing processes, we use high quality inputs from reliable European companies. As an environmentally-aware company, we also require our suppliers to take a responsible attitude towards the environment in their production processes.

Meeting International Production Standards

For a number of years we have been working steadily to implement all aspects of the Quality Management System in our supply, production and sales processes. We have been successful in our objectives and since 1994 we have been accredited to ISO standard by Lloyd''s Register Quality Assurance. The production was re-certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.

Quality assurance is the common denominator of all our purchasing, production and distribution processes.

Thanks to our systematic application of quality management policies, we manage to prevent quality problems and reduce the number of claims due to non-compliance with the agreed parameters of paper.

ISO 14001:2015 Certification

We have been acredited to ISO 14001:2015 since 2016. The standard sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and helps to reduce the impact of a business activity on the environment. Our company meets strict conditions including environmental policy, risk identification, measurement and elimination, legal awarness, and preventive precautions.

FSC^® Certification

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.

FSC is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and certification services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry.

The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value. More info at www.fsc.org.

KRPA PAPER became a member of the FSC Network 17 December 2009. The certification code SA-COC-002368/A, the licence code FSC C041133. The current status of the certification is available online at info.fsc.org.

Only the products that are identified as such are FSC certified.

BRC Certification

The certificate is based on the BRCGS Packaging Materials Issue 6.

The standard is a leading global source in food and non-food packaging that have been adopted by major retailers and packaging businesses. "Certification to the Standard verifies technical and functional performance, aids manufacturers’ fulfilment of legal obligations, and helps provide protection to the consumer," is a formal explanation by the BRC.

The BRC standard includes:

• adoption of the formal risk management systém
• documented management systém
• audit of internal norms, products, manufacturing processes and staff in production spaces

The KRPA PAPER company has been certified by Lloyd''s Register Quality Assurance. The certificate is valid for 1 year. After the one-year period new audit will be carried out.

 

Certificate of Compostability EN 13432

KH PACK Supreme papers were analyzed by the German laboratory ISEGA according to the European standard EN 13432 "Requirements for packaging recoverable through composting and biodegradation" and were successfully certified according to this standard.

KH PACK papers were analyzed on classical composting as well as vermicomposting using earthworms. The analysis was conducted carried out by Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. Certificate of Compostability is a result of a successful testing.
